Daphne – 2 1/2 year old female Cocker Spaniel

September 14, 2018

Daphne is a very small 2 1/2 year old Cocker Spaniel girl who has come to us as she is no longer required for breeding. She is very friendly but obviously nervous as life in a home is all very new and quite scary for her.

She must be rehomed with at least one other confident resident dog who will help show her what life as a pet dog is all about. Daphne will need new owners who are around for a good part of the day and who have the time and patience to help her settle in and adjust to her new life. As she is nervous, older teenagers or visiting grandchildren only please.

She has cataracts in both eyes and slightly underdeveloped eyes. Daphne has some vision and has been like this her whole life, we will be happy to discuss fully with any interested applicants. Currently, Daphne does not require any treatment for her eyes. She copes well and is able to run around like any other dog, seeing her run you would have no idea that she has limited sight.

As Daphne is not used to life in a home her housetraining may be a work in progress, a few accidents should be expected as she settles in, most ex-breeding dogs are normally very quick to pick up house training as long as they have another dog to guide them. She travelled well in the car (crated) and was both clean and quiet, she will need further training to improve her lead walking but she is a smart little lady so this shouldn’t pose her a problem.

Her tail does not stop wagging and she truly is an adorable little girl. Daphne has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, she is up to date with her flea and worming treatment and has also had her teeth scaled and polished. Daphne is currently being fostered in Basingstoke Hampshire.
